Keeping It Simple - One Kind Word
One of the first stamp sets I bought as a new crafter was the ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set from Visible Image. I love it’s abundance of sentiments and funky typewriter. If you are new to stamping and want something easy to try then why not have a go at this
clean and simple card. For my DT make this week I’ve also used the ‘Count Me In’ stencil.
To get started I stamped the typewriter and letter jumble stamp onto a piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. I used a stamp press to help line the stamp up in the centre bottom half of the card.
Once complete, I heat embossed the image with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. How ever, you do not need to emboss the image it’s perfectly fine to leave it as an inky image.
Next up, I used some low tack tape to segment off a part of the card. This is where I would be adding the stencilling. I chose 3 colours of distress ink to blend through the stencil – these were ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’. I moved the stencil around the bottom half of the card ensuring there was a bit of each colour to add interest. You can use any colours you like.
Finally, I added a small sentiment from the ‘One Kind Word’ set using the same black ink as before and heat embossed it using the same embossing powder.
The background was then mounted onto black card and a white card blank using acrylic glue. However, if you don’t have black card you could go around the card background using a black pen - it’s just as effective.
