Sketched Snowflakes and Sketched Backgrounds.
We’re half way through 2024 so that must mean it’s time to start the Christmas crafting! These new festive sets are perfect to get those card ideas flowing. In anticipation of a wintry December, I’m loving the new ‘Sketched Snowflakes’ and ‘Sketched Backgrounds’ stamps to inspire my first festive makes of the year.

To begin, I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Iced Spruce’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Speckled Egg’ distress spray stains and a few splatters of ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Speckled Egg’ distress oxide spray. I then blended ‘Speckled Egg’ and ‘Iced Spruce’ distress ink around the edge of the card. The background was then then splattered with some water to leave a lovely ethereal effect.

Next up, I stamped all the snowflakes from the ‘Sketched Snowflakes’ onto the background using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.

I then added the ‘Sketched Backgrounds’ stamps onto the card using ‘Iced Spruce’ distress ink. Doing this after the initial embossed stamping means the distress ink goes seamlessly into the background.
The sentiment from the ‘Sketched Snowflakes’ set was then stamped onto a separate small piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink before being heat embossed using Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then edged with ‘Iced Spruce’ distress ink and mounted onto some black card.

Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before the sentiment was added using 3D mounts. Some sparkly gel pen, gems and sequins were also added for extra shimmer. I love the wintry feel of this card – just perfect for Christmas 2024!
