Sketched Stars
Using Versafine Clair – Morning Mist I first stamped the Sketched Square stamp, then stamped the large Sketched Star over the top. I then clear embossed these using Wow embossing powder.
I decided to create a faux bauble shaker, so using a circle die I die cut out my Sketched star, a piece of acetate and using a second die I die cut a frame for the outside of the bauble. I coloured in my star using Cosmic Shimmer Neon Polish – Rio Red. This has a thick gel consistency, therefore in order to use it as a paint I added a little to my mat and mixed in some Cadence extender.
To create a background, I used white cardstock with the Neon Polish, this time using the sponge applicator in a sweeping motion.
On either side of the background, I stamped the Grunge Numbers stamp from the Distressed Christmas Stamp Set in Spectrum Noir Clear Ink, then added some white and polished silver embossing powder and heated.
Using the Versafine Clair – Morning Mist, I stamped the medium sketched star from the Sketched Stars stamp set twice, once onto the background and a second time onto a spare piece of cardstock to fussy cut out and decoupage. Both of these I heat embossed with polished silver embossing powder.
I added a sweep of the Neon polish onto a small piece of white cardstock then stamped the “Tis the Season” sentiment from the Sketched Stars stamp set in Versafine Clair – Nocturne then clear embossed. I cut the sentiment out into a small tag shape the punched a hole into the top. I edged the tag with a little of the Nocturne ink.
After assembling my shaker bauble with some added sparkle, I glued some silver cord to the back and to the star, I didn’t glue the back of the bauble as I wanted the bauble to swing. I added a small bow to the top of the bauble and attached the tag both with the same silver cord. I used Glossy Accents on the medium star and around the edge of the tag and sprinkled glitter over the top for added sparkle.
