Kicking Off Your Birthday

Are you a footy fan? Or do you know someone who is? The ‘Kick Off Your Birthday’ stamp set is the perfect set for those masculine cards this year.

For the background I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Twisted Citron’ and ‘Mowed Lawn’ distress spray stains. I then went around the edge of the card with the same colours in distress ink. The inky background was then spritzed with water before drying with a heat gun.

To add interest to the background I stamped some of the elements from the ‘Kick Off Your Birthday’ stamp set using ‘Salty Ocean’, ‘Rustic Wilderness’ and ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress ink.

The main footballer image, small dots and lines from the set were then stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

A few splatters of Posca acrylic white paint were then added over the top.

Next up, the small football was stamped onto a small piece of white card using the same black Versafine Clair ink. The sentiment was also stamped onto a small piece of black card using Versamark before being heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. This was edged with some card that had been coloured with the ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress ink.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. The football and sentiment were added using 3D mounts. A few black gems were added for further interest. What a great way to wish that footy mad friend a very happy birthday this year.
