Don't Hurry Be Happy
The summer has finally arrived and that means there’s an abundance of snails in the garden! It’s amazing what can inspire those crafty makes! For my make this week I’ve chosen the ‘Don’t Hurry Be Happy’ stamp set alongside the ‘Ink Splats’ stamp set for the background.
Tutorial
To begin, I blended a number of distress inks onto some white card to create a rainbow effect. The colours I chose were ‘Festive Berries’, ‘Spiced Marmalade’, ‘Mustard Seed’, ‘Mowed Lawn’, ‘Salty Ocean’ and ‘Wilted Violet’. I then splattered the background with some water to leave a lovely mottled effect.
Next up, I stamped all the ‘ink splats’ over the background using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.
On a separate piece of card I stamped out the snail from the ‘Don’t Hurry Be Happy’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.
The snail was fussy cut out and heat embossed again using Versamark and Wow Disco Ball embossing powder. It makes the snail super sparkly!
The sentiments from the same set were then stamped onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink before being heat embossed using the same clear embossing powder. These were then mounted onto some black card.
Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before the sentiment and snail were added using 3D mounts alongside some gems and sequins. I love the vibrancy of this card – just perfect for an encouragement card this summer I hope you agree?
