Mesh Heart
Tutorial
On a piece of square white 300gsm card I created my background by brayering Distress Inks in Rusty Hinge and Scorched Timber. I dried this and then added some splatters of Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. And left to dry completely.
Next opaque white texture paste was applied through the MESH HEART stencil.
I carefully removed the stencil and straight away sprinkled over Cosmic Shimmer mixed media embossing powders in Iron Age and Plantagenet. I tapped off the excess and heated straight away. This causes the texture paste underneath to bubble but gives a pleasing effect.
I then decided the card panel was too big so I trimmed it down and using the scrap card I stamped a sentiment from EQUALITY, HOPE, LOVE set in versamark and embossed using Wow! Bright White embossing powder. I cut the stamped sentiment into the pieces I wanted to use. These were then stuck onto black card and trimmed, I repeated this a couple of times to make them more chunky.
I added a few white ink spatters onto my card panel, trying to avoid the metalised heart. When dry I distressed the edges of the panel and then lightly went round with metallic gold gilding polish, I also lightly touched a little over the mesh heart.
To assemble the card I mat and layered using black and mirror gold card and adhered to a card blank leaving a narrow white border. I positioned the sentiment and stuck down using foam pads to give height.
Finishing touches were flat backed pearls and a little paper clip attached to the sentiment.
