Happy Birthday Butterfly Ink Mini

What a busy month it’s been celebrating the Visible Image 20th Birthday! Absolutely amazing. As part of the celebrations I’ve been loving the new 4x4” stencils. For my Design Team make this week I’ve used the ‘Butterfly Ink Mini’ and ‘Grunged Numbers’ stencils alongside the ‘Birthday Wishes’ and ‘Grunge Tones’ stamp sets.

Tutorial

I do love my pastel colours, so for this birthday card I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Shaded Lilac’ and ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress spray stain before adding some water droplets. I then edged the background with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress ink.

For the layered look to the card, I placed the ‘Butterfly Ink Mini’ stencil onto the background and blended ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress ink through it (3 times). I then did the same with the ‘Grunged Numbers’ stencil using ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink. Once dried, I added the ‘Grunge Tones’ stamps using Versamark and either Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder or Wow superfine metallic silver embossing powder.

I then went round the edge of the background using the final ‘Grunge Tones’ stamp using Versafine Clair ‘Lilac Bloom’ purple ink (2nd generation).

Up next I placed the ‘Butterfly Ink Mini’ stencil back onto the background and smoothed Distress opaque grit paste through it.

Whilst this dried I stamped one of the ‘Birthday Wishes’ sentiments onto white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

This was then fussy cut out and layered onto some inky card from my collection!

Finally, the background was glued onto black card and a white card blank. The sentiment was added to the card using 3D mounts before some wink of stella glitter pen and small sparkly gems finished the card. A delightful birthday card for someone special this summer.
