Tutorial
Taking a piece of 15x15cm white 300gsm white card I dusted it with an anti static bag before stamping the mini skulls from MR BONE JANGLES using versafine onyx black, I then sprinkled over a sparkly black embossing powder and heated using an embossing tool to produce a shiny, sparkly skull background.
I stamped and embossed 2 or 3 skulls at a time to make sure the ink stayed wet and the embossing powder would stick to it.
Next for a really fun messy background I sprayed my card with a light mist of water and then using dylusions ink sprays I created a bright vibrant background.
I sprayed a couple of inks, then water to get them moving, I dried in between layers, re sprayed, dabbed bits off with kitchen paper if it went a bit muddy and gave a little mist of distress spritz to add a little mica shimmer. I added a few water droplets and dabbed those off for added texture.
There’s no right or wrong way to do this, just have fun. When it was completely dry I added a few white paint spatters for contrast.
On a smaller piece of card I stamped and clear embossed the larger skull from the set using versafine onyx black and clear glossy embossing powder.
I then created an inky background using antique linen distress spay. I wanted a really textured effect so added a few layers and water drops, drying between layers.
When dry I trimmed this down to the size I wanted and adhered it to a pice of black card which was also trimmed to make it thicker.
I chose a sentiment from IMAGINE, DREAM, INSPIRE stamp set and stamped this in black card using versamark and heat embossed using wow! Bright White superfine embossing powder.
I then trimmed the sentiment into 3 strips. The sentiments and the single skull topper were then mounted onto holographic silver card and trimmed leaving a very narrow border.
I then decided to outline the skulls using my white gelly roll pen to really make them stand out.
To assemble the card I mat and layered onto a 17x17cm card blank using black and holographic silver card. I played around with the placement of the topper and sentiments before deciding to place the skull topper at an angle using foam pads, the sentiments were then attached using silicon glue.
Finishing touches were tiny flat backed rhinestones glued to the large skull for lots of bling.
