Create Happiness

I’m a great lover of vibrant fresh gerberas and this ‘Create Happiness’ stamp set really does capture their exceptional summery beauty. For my Design Team make this week I’ve teamed this stamp set up with the ‘Broken Mesh’ die set.

Tutorial

For the background I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Shaded Lilac’ and ‘Wilted Violet’ distress spray stain. I then sprayed lots of water onto the card to blend the colours together. Once dried, I blended ‘Wilted Violet’ distress ink around the edge of the card.

I then took the words from the ‘Create Happiness’ stamp set and stamped these onto the background using the new Versafine Clair ‘Lilac Bloom’ ink (1st and 2nd generation).

Next up, I stamped the main flower from the same stamp set onto another piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then fussy cut out.

The ‘Broken Mesh’ die was then die cut out from some spare card.

Before colouring in the gerbera (using some Zig color brushes and a colouring pencil) I stamped the sentiment onto a small piece of black card using Versamark. This was then heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.

The sentiment was then mounted onto a small piece of card that had been edged with ‘Wilted Violet’ distress ink.

Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before all the elements were added using acrylic glue and 3D mounts. Some additional sparkle was created using a Wink of Stella glitter pen and some water droplet gems. I really like this delightful little summery greetings card – it’ll be perfect for cheering up any friend this summer.
