Dragonfly Dreams
Tutorial
On a piece of smooth watercolour card I stamped the image using versafine clair onyx black and then heat embossed using Wow! Clear gloss embossing powder. I stamped a second image of the dragonfly on a piece of white card and also embossed.
Next I coloured around the image using Gansai Tambi Graphite watercolour paints in shades of blue/green drying between layers and adding a little Distress Spritz in Twisted Citron to give a lovely shimmer.
I then coloured coloured in the dragonfly using the same watercolours in purple/blue shades and Distress Spritz in Wilted Violet. When dry this was then fussy cut.
A little white ink was spattered over the main image to add contrast.
The fussy cut dragonfly felt a little flimsy so I pressed it into my versamark ink pad, sprinkled over clear glossy embossing powder and heat embossed. This made it feel a lot better and also gave it a lovely glossy finish.
Sentiments were stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist, clear embossed & trimmed to size. I also added a black border using pen and distressed the edges a little. I also distressed the edges of the main image.
I mat and layered the panel using black and slate grey textured card and affixed to the front of a pre made card blank. Finishing touches were glossy accents and flat backed pearls.
