Totally Toadstools

I just love Autumn with the changing colours in nature. For my Design Team make this week I’m embracing the incoming seasonal update with the ‘Totally Toadstools’ stamp set alongside the matching dies and ‘Grunge Flourish’ stamp set.

Tutorial

For the background I’ve tried to capture the feel of a woodland walk, so dipped a piece of white card into ‘Peeled Paint’, ‘Old Paper’ and ‘Shabby Shutters’ distress oxides that had been sprayed with water. I then edged the card with ‘Crushed Olive’ distress ink.

Once dried, I stamped the ‘Grunge Flourish’ at the bottom of the background using Versafine Clair ‘Avocado’ green ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

I then used the bottom of same stamp to stamp around the edges of the card in the same ink (2nd generation).

The whole background was then covered with Distress Micro Glaze. This will bring out a lovely sheen to the finished card.

Next up, I stamped all the elements (including the sentiment) from the ‘Totally Toadstools’ stamp set with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’, ‘Shady Lane’ or ’Avocado’ ink onto white card before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

The toadstools were then coloured in with colouring pencils. After die cutting out, some were topped with Ranger Glossy Accents.

The sentiment from the ‘Totally Toadstools’ set was then edged in ‘Peeled Paint’ distress ink and mounted onto some black card.

Finally, the background was glued onto black card and a white card blank. All the elements were added to the background using 3D glue before some gold and clear sequins and gems were added. I really enjoyed making this autumnal card. It’s perfect to send to any friend who may need some encouragement this season.
