Splash Of Whiskey Tutorial

On a piece of 14x14cm white card I created a background by spraying with distress ink in antique linen and smooshing onto diluted old paper distress ink. I did this several times drying in between. I then spattered with a little water and dried thoroughly using a heat tool.

I then stamped the whiskey bottle from SPLASH OF WHISKEY and 2 tumblers on white card using versafine onyx black and clear heat embossed with wow! Clear gloss embossing powder. Using rusty hinge distress ink I stamped the inserts of the whiskey tumblers and watercoloured the whiskey bottle.

I also stamped out the whiskey bottle and tumblers onto the front of my card so I knew where about I was going to place them. I stamped the splash insert into one of the glasses using rusty hinge distress ink and clear heat embossed.

Next I fussy cut the whiskey bottle and tumblers. One by one I then pressed them into my versamark ink pad, sprinkled with ranger extra thick clear embossing powder and heated using an embossing tool until the powder melted and created a thick glossy layer.

Using GRUNGED NUMBERS stencil I applied distress ink old paper through it in opposite corners of my background panel.

After drying thoroughly I stamped elements of ROUND IN CIRCLES in various positions around the edge using versamark and then heat embossed using Wow! vanilla white embossing powder. I also painted a little shadow underneath the whiskey bottle and tumblers using distress oxide hickory smoke.

Next job was to create a wooden panel which I stamped using distress ink scorched timber, blending with a little water and adding a little rusty hinge.

I then stamped my chosen sentiment from BIRTHDAY WISHES onto black card and heat embossed in vanilla white embossing powder, trimmed, glued and layered onto the wooden panel which was then again trimmed to the size I wanted.

enter image description here enter image description here To assemble the card I matched and layered using black card and glued to the front of a 15x15cm card blank. I glued down the sentiment and attached the bottle and tumblers using foam pads to give height. Finishing touches were a few dots of nuvo dream drops in varying sizes.
