Shining Bright Tag

2025 has arrived and it’s time to set some New Year Resolutions! Last year was all about making the most of every day. This year it’s about stepping out of the ordinary and my comfort zone. The ‘Shining Bright’ stamp set is a perfect reminder that you can achieve your potential and you can shine! For this tag make I’ve also used the ‘Radiate’ stencil.

Tutorial

First up I took a Dina Wakley tag and smoothed Distress opaque grit paste through it before spraying with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Wild Honey’ and ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress spray stain.

I do like a bit of glitz so once dry I also added some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spay and some white Posca pen splatters.

On another piece of card I stamped the elements and sentiment from the ‘Shining Bright’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

The lightbulbs were coloured in using watercolour pencils and a water brush before fussy cutting out and coating in Glossy Accents. These were then left to dry overnight. The sentiment was fussy cut out and then divided into 2. These were edged with ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress ink before being mounted onto black card.

Once the lightbulbs had dried I crackled the Glossy Accents coating so it looks like the lightbulbs have broken – but leaving the larger lightbulb as normal.

Finally, all the elements were glued onto the tag (which had been mounted onto black card). Black embroidery thread, water droplets and gems were added for added dimension.

I really enjoyed making this ‘New Year Resolutions’ tag. It’s a perfect reminder to go achieve your dreams.
